Mark Carney sworn in as Prime Minister

Following Justin Trudeau's resignation, Mark Carney became Canada's 24th Prime Minister. The task ahead for Canada's new prime minister will not be so easy, as there's a mounting pressure arising from the U.S. trade war, and also the upcoming federal election. Mark Carney chose a much leaner team of cabinet ministers than his predecessor, Trudeau.
The path ahead for Canada will be difficult; dealing with the administration south of the border is not something Canada can afford to take lightly. However, I believe Mark Carney's reputation of past experiences indicates he is more than qualified to tackle this head-on.
In terms of Cabinet roles, from the Globe and mail, "François-Philippe Champagne was promoted from Innovation Minister to Finance, taking over from Dominic LeBlanc, who becomes Minister of International Trade and Intergovernmental Affairs, with special responsibility for U.S. affairs. Both men will work together on trade negotiations with the Trump administration, along with Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly, who adds International Development to her duties."
As you know, the cabinet under Mark Carney is much leaner, with many of the surviving ministers having taken on more responsibilities, as expected. I, alongside every Canadian, will be watching how this new interim government performs at such a critical point in Canadian history.
